The family drove through Santa’s Wonderland light display in College Station, TX a few days ago and had a great time. It is about an hours drive from Cypress and well worth it.
The cost to see the lights are:
* Drive Through: $25/car (only available on ‘off-peak’ days)
* Hayride: $20/person
* Horse & Carriage: $40/person
You can also walk through Santa’s Town for more things to do at a cost of $10/adult or $6/child.
Regarding the light display, Santa’s Wonderland has the largest light display in Texas. The following is the answer to the FAQ “How many Christmas lights are there at Santa’s Wonderland?” on the site:
Upon opening in 1998, Santa’s Wonderland displayed over a million incandescent Christmas lights and we’ve been adding more lights every year since. In 2008 & 2009 and now 2010, Santa’s Wonderland has invested enormous dollars in “Going Green”. Now, more than 80% of the holiday lights on display in the park are L.E.D. lights. The colors are extremely bright, rich & vivid and use about 90% less electricity. Today, Santa’s Wonderland is the largest Christmas attraction in the entire State of Texas as it sits on 37 acres boast a winding trail of lights over a mile long. It’s estimated that there are over two and a half million total lights on display at Santa’s Wonderland.
I forgot to bring my flip camera, but I did try to take some video with my HTC Evo phone. The video is not the best quality, but it should give you an idea about the number of lights at Santa’s Wonderland.
Santa’s Wonderland will be open through New Year’s Eve.
