You work from home or near the Cypress area –OR– do not commute during rush hour
You value a lot of amenities
- No home is more than 1/4 mile away from a park
You like to stay active
- Miles and miles of trails
- Fitness center
- Kayaking / canoeing / paddle boats
- Fishing
- Tennis
- Annual triathlon
Tons of events

You may want to look elsewhere if

You do not foresee yourself using community amenities
You value a large lot for a reasonable price
You are looking for low property taxes

Things I Dislike About Bridgeland

Although I really do like Bridgeland a lot and recommend it to a bunch of clients, it does have its drawbacks. In this video, I discuss some of those dislikes.

Location (15 minutes just to get to Hwy 290 from back of Bridgeland)
Tax rate (3.71%)
Narrow streets
Smaller lots for the money
Fees to sell you house
No native trees where homes are built (Katy Prairie)

No power lines
No homes back-up to main roadways
The pool area
The parks
Frisbee golf
Kayak, canoe, paddle boat rental (no fee — it is included as part of your HOA dues)
The trails
The festivals (NatureFest, Howl-o-Ween Fest, Movie in the Park, etc)

Bridgeland’s Howl-O-Ween Fest 2010 – Cypress, TX

Bridgeland hosted their 2nd Annual Howl-O-Ween Fest yesterday. I made it out with the family (minus our 2 Jack Russell Terriers) and had a great time on an absolutely beautiful October day in Cypress!

Activities included:

Splash Dogs – Long jump competition for Dogs off a dock
Frisbee Catch
Train ride
Pumpkin decoration
Moonwalks, slides, etc
Candy, candy, candy!
Lots of food and drink from area restaurants

It was great time had by all and I would highly recommend trying to make it out to Howl-O-Ween Fest 2011!
